DIGS was originally a spreadsheet based construction planning and budgeting tool. It had became very broad, clunky, and difficult to understand. The client approached me in order to refine their problem statement and build a modern app to support it.
I started by understanding and embracing the challenges that the industry faced. We honed in on homeowner & contractor relationships during the bidding and building process. I discovered this dynamic tends to lack standardized best practices and trackable communication.
With my new insight, I used design thinking and wireframe flows to provide the client with a new direction for their product.
